To prepare for our upcoming cultural-exchange activities in Lüliang, we invited international students from several universities across Taiyuan—including North University of China and Taiyuan University of Technology—for a full training session.
Our goal was simple but meaningful:
to help students understand the responsibility of representing their countries and to prepare them to share their cultures with young children in Lüliang.
The session began with self-introductions, warm conversations, and laughter. Many participants wore traditional clothing from their home countries, turning the training itself into a small cultural-exchange event. The room was filled with energy, curiosity, and a sense of purpose—everyone understood that they were not only volunteers, but cultural ambassadors.
Each volunteer became an ambassador of their own country, sharing their culture with the children of Lüliang.
After the training, our team traveled together to Lüliang for the second stage of preparation. Over the next sessions, the international students collaborated closely to design their lessons for local primary school children.
They worked seriously on:
They understood that this project was not just about meeting the children—it was about offering them a genuine window into the world. In many ways, these international students were the first representation of their home countries that Lüliang children had ever seen. Everyone embraced this responsibility with sincerity and passion.

Once the cultural-exchange day in Lüliang concluded, we returned to Taiyuan for an after-meeting to reflect on the experience. The volunteers shared what they learned, what touched them, and how meaningful the interactions had been.
The conversations were filled with gratitude—toward the children, the teachers, and toward one another.
For many volunteers, this was more than an activity;
it was a reminder of the power of people-to-people exchange and how cultural encounters can shape perspectives on both sides.
This journey—from training, to preparing lessons, to presenting them in Lüliang—showed the commitment, sincerity, and warmth of our international student team. Their efforts brought the world a little closer to Lüliang, and created memories that will continue to inspire the children for a long time.
